Open NFC version 4.2 from INSIDE Secure is the first hardware-independent, open-source NFC protocol stack for Google Android 2.3. Open NFC simplifies interoperability and provides the NFC ecosystem with a consistent NFC application programming interface (API) and functionality. It offers chip vendors, smartphone manufacturers, wireless carriers and software developers a way to implement NFC independently of the underlying NFC hardware, important as Gingerbread is adopted for use in a broad range of mobile products around the world.

PN533 NFC Communication controller
Near Field Communication (NFC) is a wireless connectivity technology that enables convenient short-range communication between electronic devices. Today NFC is in everyone’s mind who intends to build up 13.56 MHz RFID systems requiring bidirectional information flow such as payment or ticketing systems. NXP now provides a new controller with system-on-a-chip features. PN533/C250 is a highly integrated transceiver module for contactless communication based on the 80C51 microcontroller core. A dedicated ROM code is implemented to handle different RF protocols. Highest data rates to and from ISO/IEC 14443A/B protocol based cards/transponders and support of all MIFARE products (e.g. new MIFARE Crypto) are provided.

Sensium ultra-low power platform for rapid development of wireless Body Area Networks (BANs)
Wearable sensor nodes (target stations) support a wide range of sensors generating data at rates up to 50kbps.
A basestation can wirelessly link up to 8 target stations, each monitoring multiple physiological signals on the body.

TZ1030 Ultra Low Power Intelligent Sensor Interface and Transceiver
Nearly all the electronics and firmware for Sensium life platform sensor nodes or basestations are integrated on to a system on chip called theUltra-low energy radio draws less than 3mW
Toumaz launched the TZ1053 Telran, an ultra-low energy (ULE) radio for wireless sensor networks, remote controls, green energy solutions, smart meters, and environmental monitoring. Built on the company’s proprietary AM Mixed Signal technology, the sub-1GHz radio SoC offers 1V operation using a single button cell battery and consumes less than 3mW continuous use power consumption.

HF RFID Module SL031
Being developed based on NXP's low power transponder ICs, HF RFID Module SL031 is a mini Mifare read/write module. It supports Mifare 1k, Mifare 4k and Ultralight and is applicable for 13.56MHz. It does auto Real-time detecting tag
NFC Near field communication
According to NXP, the Nexus S will ship with its NFC chip configured to only act as a reader. You'll be able to scan tags in public places just as you would with QR code, viewing the associated data on your phone. That's only scratching the surface of what NFC offers, though, as using the phone's chip to also transmit data opens the door for proximity-based payment systems.
